CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S JOB CORPS-GOLDEN TRIANGLE, MS (CWJC-GT)

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in the Trinity, God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Bible as the Word of God. Salvation comes through grace by believing in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, our Savior and Lord. Once saved, the Holy Spirit indwells, thereby instructing, guiding, and empowering the individual to follow the mandate of Jesus Christ in daily living.

PURPOSE    

The purpose of CWJC-GT is to assist women in gaining skills for life and employment through job training and education and to provide missions opportunities for women to help women.

MISSION STATEMENT

CWJC-GT is a ministry that offers women acceptance, hope, and restoration in a Christ-honoring environment by offering life and career skills classes and by providing fellowship with other women.

VISION STATEMENT

CWJC-GT will be a beacon of hope for blessing the women in Clay, Lowndes, and Oktibbeha counties.

MOTTO

The motto of CWJC-GT is “Planting Seeds of Hope.”  CWJC-GT is not an employment agency but instead offers scripturally-based training and education that will help guide participants in their search to gain skills for life or employment.

 “The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:  Which indeed is the least of all seeds, but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.”  Matthew 13:31-32

CWJC-GT offers free services to all women regardless of religious beliefs or situation by providing resources that attempt to meet life and employment needs. All women 18 years or older from the Golden Triangle area of Mississippi are welcome to apply and enroll in CWJC training. Our focus includes women from Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha counties, but can also include women from surrounding counties if it is determined that another Christian Women’s Job Corps site is not easily accessible.

CWJC-GT operates as a mission of the Golden Triangle Baptist Association (GTBA). Christian Women’s Job Corps is a ministry of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU).

CAREER NETWORKING AND SEMESTER CLASSES

By communicating with local employment agencies and area employers, we offer networking with business professionals who can give insight and advice about the current job market. A number of job search tips and tools are also available for the participant’s use.

Classes are taught in 11 to 12-week sessions offering a cohesive program, with lunch or dinner served each class day.  Class topics include:  Non-denominational Bible study, Basic Computer, Resume’ Writing, Interview Preparation, Communication, Money Management, Conflict Resolution, Marriage and Family, Employer discussions, and mentoring by a mature “Christian Friend.”

The Level 1 classes are typically held twice a year from the latter part of August through November (day classes) and January through April (night classes). Level 2 classes are also offered for our graduates.  Contact us for more details about specific dates and times.
